DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. A teaching assistant at Childrens Village in Dobbs Ferry was fired after naked and suggestive photos were found on a 15-year-old students cellphone, police said.
A staff member at Children's Village reported to Dobbs Ferry police that three photos of a woman in a bikini top, a woman in underwear and a womans naked genitals -- had been sent to the 15-year-old boys cellphone from the teaching assistants phone, police said.
The woman, a 29-year-old temporary, per diem teaching assistant from the Bronx, was fired as soon as the photos were discovered, said Topher Nichols, public relations specialist for the Childrens Village.
No charges were pressed against the teaching assistant, who told police she often let students borrow her cell phone to play games and during one of those instances the 15-year-old sent the photos to himself.
The student, who claimed to have a flirtatious, but not sexual or physical, relationship with the teaching assistant also said he sent the photos to himself from her phone, police said. Though no charges have been filed, the case remains open, police said.
The teaching assistant told police that the photograph of the woman in the underwear was a picture of her, but that the other two were not her.
It was really a non-incident but we are letting the police investigate, Nichols said.
