ChilanTech issued the recall for about 24,400 LiKee Pull String Teething Toys, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, June 11.

The recalled toys violate the mandatory federal toy safety standard because the silicone strings are smaller and longer than allowed. The strings can reach the back of a child's throat and become lodged, creating a serious and deadly choking hazard.

The company has received 10 reports of the toy's strings reaching the back of a child's throat, resulting in respiratory distress or choking, according to the CPSC. The toys were sold on Amazon from November 2024 through December 2025 for about $10.

The recalled teething toy is an off-white, disc-shaped product with a blue ball in the center. The teether has six multi-colored silicone pull strings that look like tentacles and run through the ball.

Parents are urged to stop using the toy immediately and take it away from children.

To receive a free replacement toy of at least equal value, including shipping, customers should cut the silicone tentacles, write "Recalled" on the toy's main body with a permanent marker, and send a photo of the destroyed product to [email protected]. Customers should then throw away the destroyed toy.

You can learn more about the recall by emailing ChilanTech at [email protected].
