CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. The Croton-Harmon Education Foundations (CHEF)winter fundraiser, Dine-A-Round, will offer two different dining experiences during this years fundraiser, instead of only one. The annual fundraiser brings participants through hosts houses in Croton.
Traditionally, participants in Dine-A-Round eat each course at a different house. This year we are trying something new, said CHEF co-president Debra Schor. We will offer two different dining experiences.
This year, guests will be able to choose between a three course formal dining experience and a two course casual dining experience. We hope this variety will increase attendance and enable us to raise more funds to support the Croton-Harmon schools, she said.
CHEFs most recent fundraiser, School's In, Eat Out, raised nearly $1,300 through donations from local restaurants. A portion of profits from Capriccio II, India House, Justin Thyme, Tavern, Tenampa, T.K. Casquarelli and Umami were donated.
CHEF is currently recruiting community members interested in hosting dinners.
CHEF has awarded total grants to the school district of more than $600,000 since its inception in 2000. The grants fund a variety of initiatives, most recently CHEF unveiled the product of an $8,000 grant to the Croton-Harmon School District. The grant bought the Atlas software for curriculum mapping, allowing parents, teachers and students more access to information on curriculums throughout the district.
