The workshops foster academic achievement by teaching students key study strategies that help them learn while reducing stress. Workshops are open to all area students who are enrolled in grades six through eight for the middle school workshop, and nine to 12 for the high school workshop.
The S4 program is founded on educational research and evidence-based studies. Its interactive approach demonstrates clearly how to apply students’ own curriculum to the study strategies they learn.
"We are excited to bring the S4 workshops back to the Chappaqua Learning Center," Michelle Sagalyn, president of S4, said in a statement. "The tools we share can help improve students’ overall academic experience. Implementing even a single new skill has been shown to boost students’ motivation and academic performance.”
Classes will be held on four Thursdays: Feb. 27, March 6, March 13 and March 20. Middle school sessions will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. while high school sessions will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
