Bus No. 8402 was involved in a traffic accident near Linglestown and Crooked Hill roads, according to a message sent to parents.
The bus serves students attending Middle Paxton Elementary School, but no children were aboard when the crash occurred, the district said.
The driver was not injured.
Additional buses from Krise Transportation were deployed to complete the morning route and minimize disruptions for students and their families.
“The school district remains committed to the safety and security of all students and staff, and we appreciate the prompt response of our transportation partners this morning,” the district said.
Details about what caused the crash or whether another vehicle was involved were not immediately released.
