At 4:52 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, officers responded to Route 9 and Bay Boulevard, after a 2013 Nissan Altima traveling southbound struck a Ford Focus which was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 9, waiting to perform a left turn, Berkeley Township police said.
The crash was caused by driver inattention and traveling too closely, police said. The initial collision caused the Focus to enter the Northbound lane and crash into a utility trailer which was being towed by a 2021 Nissan Titan, police said.
All occupants had minor to moderate complaints of pain and were transported to a nearby hospital, police said.
The driver of the Nissan Altima was issued a summons for traveling too closely and careless driving, police said.
