State Comptroller Nancy Wyman, who hopes to be the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, stopped in at Oscar's in downtown Westport early this morning. She arrived for a breakfast fundraiser with Democratic loyalists. Her gubenatorial running mate, Dan Malloy, was unable to attend. Also on hand for bagels, cream cheese, coffee and check writing, were John Hartwell, who is running for the 26th state Senate district, John Kalamarides, Chair of the Wilton Democratic Town Committee, Joe Scordato of the Westport Democratic Town Committee, Martha Aasen, State Central Committeewoman, Westport, Westport Selectman Gordon Joseloff, Weston Selectperson Gayle Weinstein and Carl Bernstein, who is running for State Representative for Weston, Redding, and Easton.
In remarks at the breakfast, Wyman said, "Dan (Malloy's) experience in Stamford is going to benefit the state. We're both ready to stand up and tell people the truth about budgeting. I finally met a leader with vision. We're very lucky that way, we're going to bring people back to Connecticut."
Later Wyman described her schedule following breakfast in Westport: stops in Middletown, Hartford, New Haven, back to Tolland, then Stafford, then Middletown again and finally, back to Tolland, where she lives. The race is on!
