Cameron Christian Levi Radabaugh, 38, of Waynesboro, was charged with felony endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor simple assault after the alleged attack at a home on the 1400 block of West North Street in Waynesboro on Thursday, May 15, according to Waynesboro Police.
Police were called to Waynesboro Area Senior High School around 7:27 a.m. after staff reported a juvenile student arrived with visible injuries, according to the affidavit.
The student told police his father, identified as Radabaugh, became angry while searching for a phone and punched him multiple times in the face and neck before grabbing him around the neck and nearly causing him to lose consciousness, the affidavit states.
Investigators said the child had visible injuries to his forehead, face, and neck. He was taken to WellSpan Hospital in Waynesboro for treatment, according to court documents.
The affidavit also alleges Radabaugh pushed the child to the ground by his neck and threatened to “beat him again after school” when the child refused to go to school.
Police said the victim reported prior incidents of alleged abuse by his father.
Radabaugh was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kristin D. Nicklas on May 15, court records show. He was initially unable to post $2,500 bail and was held at Franklin County Prison until May 18, when a professional bondsman posted bail, according to the docket.
A preliminary hearing originally scheduled for May 26 was continued to June 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Franklin County Central Court, according to court records.
