Calvin Gunn pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on Monday, April 6, and is expected to be sentenced to five years in prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Last September, a woman said Gunn entered her home while she was sleeping and attacked her, striking her multiple times in the head and face area, authorities said. As a result of that assault, the victim sustained persistent ringing in her ear, authorities said.
The victim’s children were present in the home at the time of the assault and heard their mother being assaulted, authorities said. Gunn fled the scene prior to police arrival, but officers were able to locate and apprehend him later that same day, authorities said.
