Devone Medlock, 37, of Amityville was taken into custody following an incident on Jan. 13 at approximately 3:30 p.m., according to Nassau County police. Medlock was employed as a bus aide for First Student bus company and worked with students who attend Grand Avenue School in Baldwin, authorities said.
Detectives said Medlock became physically and verbally abusive toward multiple children. The behavior included pushing, slamming, restraining, and sitting on the students, according to investigators.
Medlock was arrested at his home and charged with six counts of third-degree assault, six counts of third-degree menacing, and six counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
Medlock is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday, March 21, at First District Court in Hempstead, police said. Detectives are asking anyone who may have been a victim of the defendant to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, authorities said.
