Power still is out at the middle and high schools, but officials say Con Edison has made restoration a priority and more information will be released during the weekend. Power lines still were draped across the campus driveway Friday, Superintendent Neal Miller said.
“We have been in close contact with Con Edison every day since Tuesday and our schools are priority locations, both as educational institutions and as a polling place for Tuesday’s elections,” he said. “So, we are hopeful that power will be restored this weekend. I will let you know the status of the power as soon as I find out.”
Todd Elementary students will have full days of school Tuesday, Wednesday and Nov. 15. Smith said the dates would apply to the middle and high schools if they are open. The school district also is having a full day of classes Nov. 21, the day before Thanksgiving recess.
Officials will call parents Sunday if bus stops are meeting at alternate locations since many roads remain blocked, Miller said.
Upcoming parent-teacher conferences have been postponed, as well as Monday's board of education meeting.
