Valhalla, N.Y. -- Sydney Braiotta struck out 10 en route to a 13-3 victory over Sherman Park in the District 20 softball semifinal for nine-ten-year olds. Harrison, which has won three straight games after losing a game early in the double-elimination tournament, advanced to Thursdays championship round game against Eastchester, which has yet to lose a game. Sherman Park was eliminated.
Braiotta struck out 16 batters in Harrison's previous game, a 5-1 victory over Ardsley. Lindsay McConway had two singles and Avery LaBarbera added a triple for Harrison. We played great, Harrison Coach Kristen Ciafone said. Excellent effort by everyone. Our team was smart running the bases. We had a lot of steals. Lindsay McConway had two singles and Avery LaBarbera had a triple for the winners.
