Weehawken Man Dead By Suicide In Edgewater, Police Say In New Update

The death of an 84-year-old Weehawken man found along the Hudson Riverfront Walkway in Edgewater early Saturday, Dec. 20, has been ruled a suicide, Edgewater police said.

Officers were called to the scene at about 7:25 a.m., after receiving a report of an unresponsive man on the walkway near Edgewater Commons Mall, Chief Donald Martin said.

The investigation revealed no indications of foul play or criminality, and the death was determined to be an apparent suicide, Martin said.

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation Unit and the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assist with processing the scene and the investigation, police said.
