Sure, it's fun. Sure, it's thrilling. Sure, it's daring. And there's an added reason to take the kids to the Stamford opening of The Big Apple Circus this Saturday, July 10, at 12:30 p.m. All proceeds from the kick-off will benefit the city's Mill River Park and Stamford Downtown's Art in Public Places.
The circus built its fame on its international group of laugh-out-loud clowns, trampoline and flying trapeze artists, contortionists and jugglers, all guided by a spirited ringmaster. They perform under a white tent measuring 63 feet at its highest point and topped by gleaming yellow stars. Plus, it's air-conditioned.
You'll find the circus in the park at Washington Boulevard and West Park Place. It runs through July 25. Tickets start at $15 and group sales are available. For tickets, or more information, call (888) 541-3750 or (800) 922-3772, or visit bigapplecircus.org.
