Bedford physical trainer Ralf Hennig is currently giving a group class in Phillis Wardens beautiful garden in Bedford Hills, all of which was arranged by Jane Wood. One of his main recommendations, which I favor, is to avoid surgery by strengthening all parts of your body through exercise training. His theory is that most injuries can heal without surgery, which should only be a last resort. For more information, or to set up an appointment for a consultation, visit www.performanceball.com.
One of the best local restaurants to celebrate any special occasion is Crabtrees KittleHouse in Chappaqua. Rita Crabtree-Kampe, a co-captain of the Pound Ridge Tennis Clubs 2011 C Team, is a sister of the owner, John Crabtree. Crabtree-Kampe and her co-captain, Irene Mulligan, invited C team members to a special gathering to celebrate the fabulous tennis season. The team finished second in its division, as did the A team, so each may move up to the next level in 2012. Go teams!
Crabtree-Kampe wanted everyone to see the charming garden, called Amys Garden, which she created in memory of her sister-in-law, Amy (Johns wife), who recently died of a brain tumor. From now through October, each Tuesday will feature a Sparkle for a Cause evening in the garden to benefit a different charity. The idea was conceived by John Crabtree and his sister, Amie. This past Tuesdays event was held in support of the Mt. Kisco Child Care Center. The Sparkle evenings come complete with a specialty cocktail and appetizer menu. Patrons are also encouraged to submit names of charities for future support by Crabtrees KittleHouse.
On August 2, the Sparkle charity for the evening will be The Amy Marie Crabtree Foundation, which is designed as a charity that will fundraise for other charities that involve service to animals, children, women or brain tumor research.
