BEDFORD, N.Y. A 28-year-old Bedford Hills resident without a drivers license was arrested for driving while intoxicated and hitting another car, causing injury to the driver, according to Bedford police.
At 10:47 p.m. Sunday, an officer was on patrol near the intersection of Bedford and Woodland roads when Gregory Jean-Jacques failed to stay in the proper lane and hit another car, police said.
The officer followed Jean-Jacques down Woodland and onto South Beechwood Road, where he was able to pull him over and place him under arrest, police said. The driver of the other car was complaining of pain after the accident, police said.
Jean-Jacques was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with more than 0.08 percent blood alcohol content, a misdemeanor.
He also was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a felony, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, for which he was issued a traffic summons and leaving the scene of an auto accident that caused injury, a misdemeanor.
Jean-Jacques was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Aug. 30 in Town of Bedford Court.

- An unoccupied house on Guard Hill Road in Bedford was broken into Aug. 17, police said. That night, the owner noticed a window was broken and called the police to report a burglary. The owner is not sure if anything was taken, according to police, and the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
