NORWALK, Conn. Cross Street has been closed today so that work can be done on the railroad crossing there. The road will be closed through next Wednesday, Aug. 10.
This means that Northbound traffic on Route 7 will not be able to use exit 1. Drivers will be rerouted to Exit 2, then to Riverside Avenue and onto Route 1, per detour signs.
Detour signs will reroute Cross Street traffic to Belden Avenue, Byington Place and Riverside Avenue, New Canaan Avenue and Main Street.
The work is being done by the state.
