Berdik will discuss the mystery of willpower, and why some people go beyond the limits of human achievement while others are confined to mediocrity.
Berdik utilizes a mix of personal stories and science to show the reader how expectations can influence success.
Fellow author, Toby Lester, called Berdik's work "a delightful book: a mind-bending survey of what scientists are beginning to learn about the remarkable powers of the imagination."
Berdik is a science journalist and former staff editor at The Atlantic and Mother Jones. He has written for numerous publications, including New Scientist, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and The San Diego Union-Tribune.
The discussion will take place in the third floor auditorium of The Ferguson Library at One Public Library Plaza in Stamford.
