STAMFORD, Conn. -- Arthur W. Crowell Jr. died Oct. 7 after a lengthy illness. He was 71.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louise Cooke and Arthur Crowell Sr.; brother Ronald Crowell; and sister Patricia Foust.
Crowell is survived by his wife, Frances Gerety; siblings, Vivian Mitchell of Conyers, Ga, and Cynthia Newton of Lawrenceville, Ga; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a lifelong resident of Stamford. He worked as a respiratory therapist primarily at United Hospital in Port Chester, N.Y. until he retired. He served his community on the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone Board, Weed & Seed Initiative, Greater Bridgeport Mental Health Crisis Hotline and was active in his condo association until his health began to decline.
A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 768 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport, with a repast to follow interment at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
Flowers may be sent to St. John's Church by 9:30 a.m. the day of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions toward his final arrangements would be most appreciated.
