Arthur C. Eichler, 95, Wappingers Falls Resident

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Arthur C. Eichler -- a longtime Wappingers Falls resident, formerly of Beacon -- died on Monday, Feb. 15. He was 95.

Born in Brooklyn, Eichler was an Army veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he worked as a medical lab technician with Mid-Hudson Medical Group, in Fishkill, for 30 years.

Eichler was a life member of the Hughsonville Fire Company. He attended St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls with his wife. He had recently been baptized a Catholic.

He is survived by his son, Arthur Eichler Jr.; daughter Mary Hughes and her husband Jonathan; grandchildren Ryan Wallace and Michelle Wallace; and great-grandson Dylan Wallace.

Eichler was predeceased by his wife, Christina (Ruf) Eichler, and his parents, Arthur and Minnie Hamann Eichler.

Visiting hours will be from 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., in Wappingers Falls. Members of the Hughsonville Fire Company will meet for services at 9:30 a.m. A mass will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St., in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in the family plot in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, in Fishkill.
