Deputies were called to investigate a suspicious circumstance at an apartment in the area of Sablewood Road in Bel Air on Monday, Jan. 5, at about 4:25 p.m., according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
While deputies were investigating, officials said a resident who may be armed barricaded himself inside the apartment, the sheriff’s office reported.
Residents were asked to avoid the area as several roads surrounding the apartment complex were shut down during the response, authorities said.
The situation remains active, and no additional details were immediately released.
