The company is pushing updates to macOS 26 Tahoe as it prepares broader design changes for macOS 27, Bloomberg reported.

Bloomberg says that macOS 27 is expected to address some design quirks in macOS 26 Tahoe, which introduced Apple's Liquid Glass look across the Mac.

The current fixes are more immediate.

Apple's macOS Tahoe 26.4 update, released Tuesday, March 24, included bug fixes, security updates, and several feature changes, according to Apple's developer release notes.

The update addressed a window issue involving non-opaque windows with glass content, Apple said. It also fixed problems involving downloaded asset packs, app crashes, Touch ID availability after some updates, external media mounting, and new macOS virtual machine installations that could boot to a black screen.

Apple also used the 26.4 update to add a compact tab bar option in Safari, new emoji, Apple Creator Studio tools in Freeform, and more controls for Family Sharing purchases, MacRumors reported.

Security fixes are also part of the push.

Apple's security notes for macOS Tahoe 26.4 show patches for issues involving Mail privacy protections, app permissions, WebKit, printing, Spotlight, SMB, and other system components.

One Mail fix addressed an issue in which Hide IP Address and Block All Remote Content may not have applied to all mail content, Apple said.

Earlier this year, macOS Tahoe 26.3 focused mostly on bug fixes and security updates.

For Mac users, the practical advice is simple: install the latest available macOS 26 Tahoe update through System Settings, especially if a device has shown Safari issues, visual glitches, privacy concerns, or stability problems. Bigger design refinements may have to wait for macOS 27.
