Anthony Zigarelli pleaded guilty pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in June, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
At 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Toms River police responded to Camino Medio and Camino Verde after Anthony Ventrice produced a handgun and fired multiple gunshots at a person who was riding his bicycle through the area, Billhimer said.
Zigarelli and Ventrice then entered a vehicle and drove past the victim, with Zigarelli firing additional shots at him, Billhimer said.. None of the shots struck the victim, and he was uninjured in the attack, Billhimer said.
Ventrice and Zigarelli were originally charged with attempted murder, Billhimer said.
Ventrice, who was a juvenile at the time of the incident, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in June. His sentence is pending, Billhimer said.
