FAIRFIELD, Conn. Anthony P. Rodrigues of Fairfield died Aug. 17 at Epoch Senior Health Care in Brewster, Mass. He was 90.
The son of Albino and Bertha Canedo Rodrigues, he was born July 27, 1921, in Ludlow, Mass. During World War II, he served in the Army from 1942 until 1946. Rodriguez was stationed in Great Britain, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Rodrigues was a retired manufacturing engineer. He previously worked at Pitney Bowes in Danbury. He was an avid golfer and gardener. He was married to Celeste Fernandes Rodrigues, who died in 1997.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas A. (Jennifer) Rodrigues, of Tucson, Ariz., and John P. (Ernest) Rodrigues Tripp, of North Truro, Mass.; a brother, Alan (Wendy) Rodrigues, of Florida; a sister, Esther Mellili, of Trumbull; a brother-in-law, Fernando (Lillian) Baptiste, of Ludlow; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Parente-Lauro Funeral Home in Bridgeport. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
