Knox announced last month he was decommitting from Cornell after just one semester and never even hitting the mat. On Wednesday, Jan. 7, he announced he had signed with Rutgers.
Court records show that two people named Anthony Knox (one with blue eyes and one with brown eyes), were charged with simple assault in a February brawl in Collingswood that nearly had the younger Knox disqualified from state championships.
After an outpouring of support and a successful appeal, the St. John Vianney High School grappler was reinstated, and on March 8, he dominated Bergen Catholic's Nathan Braun with an 18-4 victory.
Knox is the most decorated wrestler to ever sign with Rutgers Wrestling after going 144-1 in his high school career.
Rutgers wrestling coach Scott Goodale hinted at a signing on Tuesday night, Jan. 6, when he tweeted out his signature "Boom!!!"
