Town police Tuesday were investigating the fourth home burglary reported in three days with nearly $35,000 in valuables missing.
Police said the burglary occurred between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Monday when someone entered the residence through an unlocked door and took two about $30,000 worth of jewelry, MacBook computers valued at $4,000 and an iPad worth $700. Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said the home has an alarm system, but it was not set.
The burglary came on the heels of three home burglaries reported over the weekend. Homes on Ramhorne Road and Smithridge Road were robbed of jewelry Saturday and a home on Stonehedge Drive was burglarized Sunday, resulting in $70,000 in missing jewelry total. Police did not say whether the Michigan Avenue incident was connected to the other three burglaries.
