FAIRFIELD, Conn. Andrew J. Alexopoulos of Fairfield died July 4 at his home. He was 41.
Raised in Little Neck, N.Y., Alexopoulos and his wife, Janine, lived briefly in Douglaston, N.Y., before moving to Fairfield 11 years ago. He received a bachelor's degree from SUNY Albany in 1993 and a master's in software engineering from Fairfield University in 2008.
Alexopoulos worked as a computer analyst for Prudential Financial at the Shelton office since 2006. Before that, he worked for Prudential Securities in New York City from 1993 to 2006.
Starting in 2007, he raised money for Team Brent at the annual St. Baldrick's fundraiser. He also volunteered at Riverfield Elementary School, helping with Junior Achievement, the Mill River Project and C.A.N.E.
A technology enthusiast, Alexopoulos was passionate about his work and spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching episodes of "Seinfield" with his wife and playing on his computer. Alexopoulos was an avid New York Rangers, New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Janine Campa Alexopoulos, are a daughter, Suzie; two sons, Spencer and Gregory; his parents, Peter and Constance Antoniou Alexopoulos, of Little Neck; a sister, Stacy (Steve) Fanelli, of Kings Park, N.Y.; his father-in-law, Arnold Campa, of Redding; his mother-in-law, Diane Campa, of Whitestone, N.Y.; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nephews and friends.
Calling hours were held Sunday at Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield.
