A Bridgeport man was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly stalking a woman at her Fairfield office. Dawer Gilani, 32, was seen driving around the parking lot of 501 Kings Highway East, despite previous warnings for him to stay off the premises by Fairfield Police.
In February, Gilani allegedly asked a coworker in the Fairfield office building to talk to the victim, saying he knew her from a gym in Trumbull. The victim told police she does not know Gilani. Both the victim and the coworker warned him to stay away at the time.
Gilani is also suspected of leaving notes on the victims vehicle in the buildings parking lot and following her there from the Edge fitness center down the street. In April, the victim filed a formal harassment complaint with the Fairfield Police, who then again warned Gilani to stay off the property of 501 Kings Highway East.
On Wednesday at about 11 a.m., Sgt. Hector Irizarry saw Gilanis car enter the buildings parking lot. Irizarry then arrested Gilani and charged him with first-degree trespassing and third-degree stalking. He is being held on a $50,000 and is due in court Thursday morning.
