WESTPORT, Conn. Absentee ballots for the April 24 Republican presidential primary are available in the Westport town clerks office beginning today, Town Clerk Patricia Strauss announced.
Registered Republicans may qualify to complete an absentee ballot for one of the following reasons: Active service in the U.S. military; illness or physical disability; religious tenets, which forbid secular activity on the day of the primary; duties as an election official at the polling place other than their own during all of the hours of voting; or absence from the town during all of the hours of voting.
Residents can request an application for an absentee ballot in person at the town clerks office in Room 105 at Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave, or by calling 341-1110. The application form can also be downloaded online at www.westportct.gov/townclerk.
The absentee ballots are available through April 23, the day before the primary. The town clerk's office is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
