Officials with Con Edison estimated that all residents in Westchester County will have power back by Nov. 11.
The emergency shelter set up at Rye Country Day School closed Friday, however a warming center will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Rye Golf Club Administration Building at 330 Boston Post Road, Rye.
The Rye Free Reading Room will continue its extended hours from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. until further notice, though it will still be closed as usual on Sunday.
For those living in the coastal areas whose property was damaged in the storm, the city announced that residents may restore yards, walls, terraces, and buildings to pre-hurricane conditions without the need for a wetland permit from the city.
Licensed contractors should do all work, city officials said. Any repair activities that involve structural work to a building or wall, or exceed 50 percent of the market value of the home may still require a building permit from the City of Rye.
