Clark Associates is recalling about 158,486 Lancaster Table & Seating powder-coated aluminum outdoor chairs and barstools, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Feb. 5. The recall includes three models of armchairs, side chairs without arms, and barstools.
The recall was issued after reports that chair and barstool legs can fail during normal use. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania, company has received 36 reports of chair legs breaking or bending, causing four falls and three injuries, according to the CPSC.
The chairs and barstools were sold in a wide range of colors, including blue, brown, dark gray, light gray or silver, red, white, aqua, black, green, sangria or burgundy, yellow, and orange. Outdoor tables sold with some of the chairs are not included in the recall.
The recalled chairs and barstools were sold nationwide through Clark Pro and Clark National Accounts, as well as online at WebstaurantStore, The Restaurant Store, and Quicksupply. They were available from April 2020 through October 2025, with prices ranging from $55 to $133.
Customers are urged to stop using the recalled chairs and barstools immediately and contact Clark Associates for a full refund to the original method of payment or a store credit. Customers must register a chair or barstool online, mark it with the word 'Recalled' in a visible location, and dispose of it according to local and state laws.
You can learn more about the recall on Clark's website or by calling 800-285-8172.
