Detectives spent four hours undercover around Market Street from East 22nd to East 31st streets, and Van Houten Street from East 18th to Straight streets, after receiving complaints of prostitution there, Berdnik said.

Berdnik said his department will continue similar sweeps throughout the year.
"Generally, prostitution leads to other criminal activity," Berdnik said, "and erodes the fiber of any community and needs to be actively enforced."
