A $10,000 check in memory of Cameron Brucea 2010 Staples graduate who died in September at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario was presented to the Staples Tuition Grants by the Westport Sunrise Rotary on Friday.
Charles Haberstroh, president of Westport Sunrise Rotary's 21st Century Foundation, presented the check to Anne Hardy, a director of Staples Tuition Grants, an independent organization. Cameron's parents, Iain and Linda Bruce, a Sunrise Rotary member and Representative Town Meeting member, were in attendance. Iain Bruce is president of the Westport Weston Family Y board of directors.
Cameron, who was entering his freshman year at Queen's University as an engineering student, was an accomplished swimmer, musician and student.
