On Monday, Aug. 28, Tyshaun Johashen, a 32-year-old Freeport man, entered his guilty plea in relation to the March 2023 crash, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.

A 21-year-old man was charged after investigators reported that he stole catalytic converters from two utility vans on Long Island.
Kevin Vasquez, of Brentwood, was arrested at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
SCPD reported that Vasquez stole catalytic converters from vans that were parked at B&R Mechanical, located at 16 Sawgrass Drive in North Bellport, sometime between Friday, Aug. 26, and Monday, Aug. 29.
He left the scene in a Nissan Sentra, authorities said.

Three suspects assaulted three patrons of a Little Caesar's Pizza in Stafford, police said.
On August 1, sometime before 5 p.m., the three suspects entered the restaurant, located at 282 Deacon Road, and demanded a refund for their pizza, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
While waiting for their money, a conversation with two victims began, before one of the suspects punched one of the victims in the head, authorities reported.

A Newark man who police say fired shots into the air and fled from officers in a stolen car was arrested Monday.
Officers spotted Rodney Burch, 28, standing outside a black Nissan Sentra, raising a firearm, and firing multiple rounds into the air just before 3:40 a.m. Monday, according to Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara.
When Burch became aware police were on scene, he fled in the car, which had been reported carjacked out of Jersey City, authorities said.

Victim In Fatal Falls Township Crash Identified As Morrisville Woman, Police Say
The victim in a fatal crash that occurred in Falls Township Tuesday morning has been identified, authorities said.
Nancy Amoroso, 86, of Morrisville, was traveling South on Hood Boulevard in a 2017 Nissan Sentra when she experienced a medical emergency, and veered across the opposite lane, striking a parked unoccupied car, around 7:50 a.m., according to Falls Township police chief Nelson Whitney.
Amoroso was transported to Jefferson Bucks Hospital and pronounced dead shortly thereafter, Whitney said.
