At 10:08 p.m., a Toyota vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Knowlton Township when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway and struck a tree, Sgt. Charles Marchan of the New Jersey State Police said. The two children were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.

Hackettstown Man Sexually Assaulted 15-Year-Old: Prosecutor A 33-year-old Hackettstown man was arrested and charged on Thursday, May 23 with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old, authorities said. Matthew Canavan was identified as the suspect by Independence Township Police and charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual conduct and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Acting Warren County Prosecutor Anthony Picione said. Canavan was known to the victim, Picione said. He is currently being held at the Warren County Correctional Facility, Picione said.
