Drunk 24-Year-Old Man Kept Driving After Haverstraw Crash, Police Say
An allegedly drunk driver was taken into custody after crashing, completely rolling over his vehicle, and attempting to leave the scene of the crime in the Hudson Valley, police said.
In Rockland County, police agencies in the area received a report of a crash in Haverstraw at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1 on Route 202.
The vehicle reportedly struck an embankment, rolled over completely, landed on its wheels, then drove off.

Massive Hudson Valley Fire That Destroyed Two Businesses Under Investigation
An investigation is continuing after a four-alarm fire that destroyed a food market and an office and damaged several other businesses.
The fire started around 6 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, in a two-story commercial building at 83 Lafayette Ave., in Suffern, that houses numerous businesses including a flower shop, restaurants, and more.
According to Suffern Fire Chief Jeremy Kaufer, when firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy fire showing from the second floor of the rear of the building.

Neighbors' Reports Of Syringes In Street Lead To Seizure Of Drugs, Gun, Cash In Suffern Raid
Complaints of constant coming and goings and syringes in the street led to the bust of a Suffern man for allegedly dealing drugs.
Aided with a no-knock warrant, Suffern Police, along with members of the Rockland Drug Task Force and Rockland SWAT team, raided the Prairie Avenue home of Gustavo Roche, around 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, said Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn.
The warrant was issued following a months-long investigation into narcotics activity at the home, Osborn said.

Community Rallies Around Family That Lost House To Suffern Fire
The community is rallying to support a family that lost its home to a massive structure fire on Wednesday in Suffern, just weeks before the holidays.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 firefighters from multiple area departments were called to Washington Avenue in Suffern for a fully-involved structure fire.
Crews from Mahwah, Hillburn, Sloatsburg, Tallman, Monsey, Hillcrest and Nanuet worked at the scene, containing the flames and damage to only the one house, which was destroyed. No injuries were reported, but family pets perished in the fire.
