Three people were onboard at the time of the landing at Harrisburg Avenue and Mulberry street around 8:30 a.m., according to Lancaster County Wide Communications.
A medical incident suffered by the pilot forced them to land unexpectedly, reports WGAL News 8 citing a firefighter at the scene.
The pilot was transported from the scene to a local hospital, according to WGAL.
No other injuries were reported, according to LCWC.
Only a few days prior to this incident the Federal Aviation Administration proposed that "commercial hot-air-balloon pilots hold a medical certificate when they operate for hire. Having balloon pilots meet the same medical requirements as aircraft pilots would benefit the safety of their passengers," according a news release on the FAA's website.
