Multiple Agencies Race To Scene After Boat Bursts Into Flames In Suffolk

Multiple fire departments responded to a raging boat fire on Long Island located right next to a house.

The incident took place just before 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 27 in Amityville, at 299 S. Ketchum Ave.

Once on the scene, firefighters found two boats on fire that were dry-docked next to a house, the Amityville Fire Department said.

There was also one burn victim, who was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

Firefighters quickly pulled lines and began knocking down the flames, while others worked to stabilize the boats with rescue jacks.

The fire did not extend to the home and the fires were put out within a couple of hours.

The condition of the burn victim is not known. 

No firefighters were injured.
