The incident took place around 8:44 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, when 911 dispatchers received a call for a report of a man down on the ground at the Oakridge Plaza, at 960 Violet Ave., in Hyde Park, said Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson.
When officers arrived on the scene they found the man unconscious and not breathing, Benson said.
The man was lying in the corner of the parking lot and was dead, he added.
Police are working to identify the man so they can notify next of kin.
The Hyde Park Police are being assisted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
The case is under investigation.
