State Police: Tractor Trailer Hauling Food Catches Fire On Route 80

A tractor trailer hauling food went up in flames on Route 80 eastbound in Warren County early Monday morning, state police said.

The fire broke out just before 4:45 a.m. near milepost 1.8 in Knowlton Township, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice.

“The cab became fully engulfed,” Curry said.

The driver was able to escape without injuries from the truck, which was not holding any hazardous materials, police said.

The right lane was temporarily closed as a result of the blaze, police said.

The cause of the fire is not known.
