Truck Fire Delays Traffic On Route 1 In South Brunswick

South Brunswick police asked motorists to avoid Route 1 South and Henderson Road due to the fire.

The fire was reported at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11.

An unconfirmed report said the fire involved a garbage truck.

3 p.m. update:

• Route 1 southbound is down to 1 lane from Blackhorse Lane to Henderson Road
• Henderson Road is CLOSED to traffic from Route 1 to Crestview Drive
• Cars traveling westbound on Henderson Road approaching Route 1 MUST make a right turn onto Route 1 northbound - they may not cross Route 1.
