'Large-Scale' Burglary Ring Targeted Homes In Lehigh Valley And Beyond, DA Says
Half a dozen people are charged in connection with a "large-scale" home burglary scheme, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.
At a press conference on Friday, April 26, prosecutors and law enforcement said an organized ring of thieves stole more than $160,000 in goods from homes in Lehigh, Berks and Northampton counties.
They also targeted at least one home in Warren Township, New Jersey, authorities said.

24-Year-Old Rosendale Man Admits Killing Victim Of Home Burglary, DA Says
A 24-year-old Hudson Valley man faces 25 in prison after admitting he killed a victim involved in a home burglary, according to authorities.
Ulster County resident Jacob Jackson, age 24, of Rosendale, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Tuesday, Nov. 14, for the shooting death of Myron Moye, age 36, of Kingston, said Ulster County District Attorney David Clegg.
On Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, three men wearing masks and gloves broke into Moye's home, tied up occupants, and then stabbed, shot, and killed the victim and fled, Clegg said.

US Marshals Nab Nutley Home Burglar From Clifton: Police
A 42-year-old man was captured with help from the US Marshals Service in connection with a recent home burglary in North Jersey, authorities said.
Julio Ponce, of Clifton, is believed to have gone into a Nutley home on Monday, Oct. 9, on Raymond Avenue, and taken a woman's purse from a tabletop around 10 a.m., while she was showering, Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said.
The woman said she heard loud knocking at her front door. Moments later, she found her back door wide open and her pocketbook gone, police said.

Third Time's A Charm: Burglar, 29, Nabbed In Russell Gardens After Multiple Attempts
A 29-year-old home burglar was arrested after breaking into a Long Island – and attempting to do the same to two other houses, police said.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, a 72-year-old man woke up to the sound of his alarm system going off in his Russell Gardens home.
When the victim left his bedroom, he came face-to-face with 29-year-old Curtis Slyke, police said.
Slyke grabbed an item and fled the Wensley Drive home on foot.
Police officers soon found Slyke, who is homeless, walking near the intersection of Wensley Drive and Linford Road, and he was arrested.

A 24-year-old Somerset County man accused of a string of home and car burglaries is facing various charges, authorities said.
Jason M. Milak was seen driving a work van before burglarizing a home on River Road in Branchburg Township on Monday, May 9, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart said in a release alongside local officials on Wednesday, June 22.
A month later, Milak, of Branchburg, was scared off by a resident of Cedar Grove Road who claimed that he had tried to break into a parked vehicle shortly before 3:30 a.m.

A Hudson Valley couple has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a popular chef and his brother during a home burglary in 2021.
Orange County residents Chasity Cutway, age 38, and David Host, age 33, of both of Walden, were sentenced on Friday, April 29.
Cutway and Host were convicted of the Jan. 13, 2021, slayings of 41-year-old Glenn Travis and 18-year-old Derek Travis at their home on Murphy Road in Swan Lake in Sullivan County, said Sullivan County District Attorney Meagan Galligan.
