Black Bear Spotted In Doylestown Backyard: Officials
A black bear was seen in the backyard of a Doylestown home, police said Thursday, May 23.
Authorities said the bear was spotted near Ferry Road and Iron Hill Road.
"The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been notified and is formulating a game plan," township police said.
According to the PGC, black bears are the only species of bear to call Pennsylvania home. They are most active at dusk and dawn and will eat human food, garbage, bird feed, pet foods, fruits from trees or gardens, and livestock feed.

Wandering Black Bear Captured In Montgomery County
A black bear spotted wandering around Plymouth Township has been captured and will be relocated, officials say.
The bear was first seen in the parking lot of the Plymouth Meeting Mall around 4 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, according to police. He evaded capture by running southeast toward the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Then, by Thursday afternoon, police said the bear had been spotted northeast of the mall in an area bound by Hickory, Walton, Township Line, and Narcissa roads.

A 40-year-old Pennsylvania hunter has been arrested for accidentally shooting a man on his own lawn instead of the deer he was targeting, authorities said.
Police arriving at the scene at Lenape Lane in College Township on Dec. 4, 2021, found Michael Lloyd, of Boalsburg, tending to the elderly victim according to State College police.

Bucks County Hunter Surrenders Months After Shooting That Killed 18-Year-Old Jason Kutt
Authorities on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 52-year-old man in the deadly October shooting of 18-year-old Jason Albert Kutt in Nockamixon State Park.
Kenneth Troy Heller, 52, of Warminster, surrendered to authorities on Dec. 30, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said.
