Norwich Cop Stole Thousands From Police Benevolent Association, Authorities Say
A Connecticut police officer and former president of a police benevolent association has been arrested after he allegedly stole thousands of dollars of funds over three years.
New London County resident Ryan O'Connell, age 42, of the city of Norwich, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 12 on an arrest warrant, the Connecticut State Police announced.
O’Connell, who is a Norwich Police Department officer, served as the president of the city’s Police Benevolent Association from 2015 until 2022.

CT Man Sentenced For Dark Web Fentanyl Distribution
A Connecticut man was sentenced to more than a decade in prison for trafficking drugs on the dark web, leading to a fatal overdose, and firearm charges.
Barry Duclos, age 43, of New London County, was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 1, to 170 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
The US Attorney's Office said Duclos, a resident of Norwich, was found guilty of the following charges on July 30:

CT Man Sentenced For Distributing Crack Cocaine
A Connecticut man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to distributing powder and crack cocaine.
Frank Biggs, age 63, of Hamden, was sentenced on Tuesday, Jan. 18, to two years, three months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, the United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Biggs pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base on Sept. 22, Boyle reported.

CT Man Sentenced For Distributing Cocaine
A Connecticut man has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for distributing cocaine and crack cocaine.
Windham County resident Andre Smith, also known as "Dre", age 42, of Woodstock, was sentenced on Thursday, Jan. 13, said Leonard C Boyle, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Smith was also sentenced to three years of supervised release following his imprisonment.
