A detective and police officer from Hasbrouck Heights teamed up to nab a wanted longtime repeat offender from Garfield. Detective Nicholas Brunetti was off duty when he saw Michael Villamizar, 53, leave the Walgreens on Boulevard and pedal off on a bicycle, Lt. John Behr said. Villamizar was wanted for a May 3 shoplifting at the same pharmacy, the lieutenant said. The detective flagged down Officer John Mullins, who stopped Villamazir on Raymond Street. State police are seeking tips in the case of Travis Fanning. Fanning was 30 years old when he disappeared in Hazle Township on Nov. 15, 2018, according to troopers. His father last saw him around noon after dropping him off at the Groceries Plus at 1003 Vine Street, police said. The store was just a few blocks from their North James Street home. A reward has been offered by Metro Crime Stoppers in Baltimore County as they attempt to identify the suspect responsible for shooting and killing a 17-year-old over the weekend. Early on Sunday, June 9, detectives were called to the 200 block of Hammershire Road in Reisterstown, where they found Nester Nunez unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Two people were injured in a four-car crash in Newark on the morning of Tuesday, June 11, authorities said. At 10:59 a.m., police responded to a four-car crash at Lyons Avenue and Leslie Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.. Two people were transported to a nearby hospital for complaints of pain, Fragé said. A former official at an Ocean County volunteer fire department admitted to stealing more than $100,000, authorities said.
