Thieves Snag $35K Cash From South Philadelphia Driver: Police
A man was robbed of $35,000 early Thursday morning, June 13, city police say. The victim, a store owner, was driving near Oregon Avenue and 19th Street when a blue Chevrolet pickup truck "tapped the rear of his car," authorities said. He got out of his vehicle and three men emerged from the Chevy. Two parents in Lower Chichester Township face misdemeanor charges after police say their child missed school for over 60 days. Carolyn L. Gill and John E. Spires are charged with corruption of minors, said township police.
