Police ID Teen Killer Wanted In Fredericksburg HS Student's Murder

Police have identified a 16-year-old boy who they say played a role in the killing of a Fredericksburg High School student.

Lorenzo A Brooks acted along with Aaron Randolph Carter, 19, in the killing of 18-year-old Jasiah Smith on Sunday, March 26, Fredericksburg police said.

Brooks has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Both he and Carter remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous.

Smith was found unresponsive, lying in a parking space with multiple gunshot wounds. Responders performed CPR and attempted life-saving measures until paramedics arrived to rush him to an area hospital, where the teen was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

More than $6,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe in Smith's memory as of Thursday, April 14.
