Fairfax Stabbing Suspect First To Be Convicted Based On Drone Evidence In Maryland For the first time, investigators in Montgomery County have secured a conviction largely through evidence collected by drones, and a 45-year-old man is heading to prison.  Fairfax County resident Jovan Ali, 45, was found guilty by a jury last month of second-degree assault in connection to a stabbing in April. On Thursday, Dec. 5, the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office announced that Ali has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being caught on camera by the drone. District Man Wanted For Attempted Murder In Maryland At Large, Police Say Police in Montgomery County have identified the midday shooting suspect who left a man with critical injuries. District resident Isaiah Warren Simpson, 33, has been identified as the suspect involved in a Friday afternoon shooting that ended with one man suffering from a gunshot wound in Rockville. According to police, shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 2, officers from the Rockville City Police Department and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services responded to the 400 block of College Parkway where there was a reported shooting.
