They say if you don't succeed, try, try again, a mantra that Manassas resident Maurice Farley took to heart en route to a six-figure Virginia Lottery prize.

For five years, Farley said that he's been playing the annual Virginia "New Year's Millionaire Raffle" and has come up short.

2024 might just be his year.

The ticket, purchased at 7-Eleven on Wellington Road in Manassas, was cashed in this week, and Farley said that he hopes to use his unexpected - and long-awaited windfall to start his own business.

Five $1 million tickets were sold in Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, Poquoson and Stafford. Farley is one of seven $100,000 winning tickets, which were purchased in Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, Poquoson and Stafford.

An additional 1,000 tickets each won $500
