Spanky’s Pizza & Subs has officially opened in Leesburg, as store owner Azmi Zarou continues to expand the family brand in the community.
The new eatery is located across the street from Spanky's Shenanigans in the Leesburg Plaza shopping center, which is also owned by Zarou.
According to the owner, he was approached about taking over the space — formerly known as Rocco’s NY Pizza & Subs — where he was one of the owners before having to sell during the pandemic.
His father, Ramzi Zarou, first brought their family's pizza and family-friendly dining to the area in 1974.
“I’ve been making pizza since I was 12 years old, so I figured I’d go back into the pizza business again,” Zarou said. “I just want you to come out and support. We’ll always make it right.”
Before reopening under the new name, the space was completely gutted and renovated, officials said.
Spanky’s now features indoor seating, pickup, and delivery, along with a menu stacked with pizza, pasta, wings, subs, salads, desserts, beer, wine — and even items for kids and dogs.
"Inspired by a desire to offer high-quality pizza at fair prices, we aim to bring families and friends together around flavors they’ll love," the owners said.
"After decades of successful ventures like Shenandoah Deli, Manhattan Pizza, and Rocco’s Pizza, Azmi is back with a renewed mission: to deliver great pizza, tasty subs, and exceptional service to the heart of Leesburg."
